Wavetrac Differential – Porsche 987 6-Speed Manual
The Wavetrac limited-slip differential is a helical gear, torque-biasing LSD engineered to improve traction and stability under load without the use of clutch plates. It delivers smooth, progressive torque transfer for fast road and track-driven Porsche applications.
Unlike conventional helical differentials, Wavetrac incorporates a patented wave-cam preload mechanism that maintains drive when one wheel becomes lightly loaded. This reduces the loss of drive sometimes experienced with gear-type LSDs during cornering, over kerbs, or on uneven surfaces.
Manufactured from high-strength alloy steels and precision-machined for durability, the Wavetrac unit offers consistent performance with no routine servicing requirements associated with plated differentials.
