Wavetrac Helical LSD – Porsche G9x / G91 (Open Differential)
The Wavetrac helical limited-slip differential is a direct replacement for the factory open differential fitted to later Porsche manual and PDK transaxles. Designed for fast road and track use, it delivers smooth, progressive torque biasing without clutch plates, preload springs, or routine servicing.
Unlike conventional gear-type LSDs, the Wavetrac features a patented internal wave cam device that maintains torque transfer during low or zero load conditions—such as kerb strikes, diagonal wheel lift, or uneven surfaces—helping prevent the momentary loss of drive commonly associated with traditional helical differentials.
