The Wavetrac limited-slip differential is a torque-biasing helical gear LSD engineered to improve traction, stability and power delivery in the Porsche 981 platform, without the compromises of a plated differential.
Unlike conventional gear-type LSDs, the Wavetrac features a patented internal wave-cam preload mechanism that maintains drive when one wheel becomes lightly loaded. This prevents momentary loss of torque transfer during aggressive cornering, kerb strikes or uneven road surfaces—conditions commonly encountered in fast road and track use.
The result is predictable, progressive lock-up under load, improved corner exit traction and enhanced rear-end stability, while retaining factory refinement for daily use.
