Wavetrac Helical LSD – Porsche 901 - 911 and 912(1965–1968)
The Wavetrac limited-slip differential is a modern torque-biasing solution for early Porsche 901 gearboxes, delivering improved traction and stability without the drawbacks of traditional clutch-type LSDs.
Using a helical gear design, the Wavetrac automatically distributes torque to the wheel with the most available grip, improving acceleration, corner exit traction and overall drivability. Unlike conventional helical differentials, Wavetrac incorporates a patented wave-cam preload device that maintains drive in low or zero load conditions, preventing momentary loss of traction when a wheel unloads over crests or uneven surfaces.
Constructed from high-strength alloy steels and precision-machined for durability, the Wavetrac is well suited to fast road, historic competition and track use where predictable, maintenance-free performance is required.
