Wavetrac Helical LSD – Porsche G50 / “bolt-in drive flange” 6MT rear applications (40.309.160WK)
The Wavetrac is a torque-biasing helical gear limited-slip differential designed to put power down cleanly on road or track—without clutch plates to wear out or require periodic rebuilds. Unlike typical helical/Torsen-style diffs, Wavetrac’s patented internal wave-cam preload device maintains drive when one wheel becomes lightly loaded (kerbs, crests, wet/ice patches), reducing the “open diff” moment some gear-type LSDs can suffer in near-zero load conditions.
Key features
-
Helical gear torque-biasing LSD: progressive, smooth lock-up under throttle (no plates/chatter).
-
Patented no/near-zero load traction device: helps keep drive when one axle momentarily unloads.
-
Motorsport-grade construction: 9310 alloy steel gears, case-hardened steel body, ARP fasteners (high strength & durability).
-
Maintenance-free in normal service (no clutch pack servicing).
Fitment (bolt-in drive flange models)
-

Important notes (read before ordering)
-
Drive flange type matters (996/997): some 996 transmissions use clip-in style flanges—those typically require a different Wavetrac SKU (often listed as 40.309.165WK). Please confirm bolt-in vs clip-in before purchase.
-
Turbo rear flange bolts: some Turbo models use shorter M10 bolts; longer bolts may be required (commonly supplied with the diff by some vendors—verify during install).
